Join us for a New Year’s evening of music to calm your spirit and soothe your soul,
with vocalist Leslie McBride accompanied by Maria Heger, piano.
As a member of the New York City Opera for six years, Leslie has appeared in over 50
productions, with principle roles in several, including La Cucina in Puccini’s
Madame Butterfly and Young Tree in the “Live from Lincoln Center” telecast of
Britten’s Paul Bunyan. She has performed the title roles of Pamina in the Mozart
Opera Project’s production of The Magic Flute and Mabel in the North Shore Chamber
Choir’s production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance. Ms. McBride
has also been a featured soprano soloist with many concert groups throughout New
York City and Long Island, performing such works as Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s
Requiem and Vesperae Solennes de Confessore, Brahms’ A German Requiem, Beethoven’s
Mass in C and Faure’s Requiem. She has made regular appearances with the Brookhaven
Choral Festival’s July 4th Celebration at the Brookhaven Amphitheater. Ms.
McBride studied vocal performance at the Mannes College of Music in New York,
NY, where she earned her Master’s degree. She received her Bachelor of Arts
degree in Music from Binghamton University. She resides in Manorville, New York,
where she maintains a private voice studio. Her website is

Maria Heger, Piano Ms. Heger, Accompanist, is a graduate of the
Vienna Academy of Music where she studied under Dr. Joseph Dichler and
assisted in the vocal studio of Tino Pattiera. There, she accompanied such
greats as Paul Schoeffler, Max Lorenz, and James McCraken. Ms. Heger has
performed widely in New York and Long Island. She has also been the accompanist
at several of the master classes given by the Metropolitan Opera soprano
Eleanor Steber.
