“An Irish Odyssey” with the Sean Grace Trio
Sunday, March 9, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.
Tickets are now available at the Reference and Adult Services Desk: $2 adults, $1 seniors/students.
Award winning singer, songwriter and virtuoso flute player,
Sean Grace, presents an entertaining and engaging program of traditional and
contemporary Irish music. With a sound that’s been compared to both James Galway
and Jethro Tull, Sean takes the flute where no one has gone before. Combining
the sounds and songs of his ancient Gaelic roots with latin-jazz and folk-rock,
Sean and his group of world-class musicians take you from the mystical cliffs of
Donegal to the white hot sands of the tropics.
Along with having a captivating and compelling stage presence, Sean is also an
accomplished recording artist. In 1996, his first nationally distributed album,
Celtic Voyage, became the best selling record in its category for the Border’s
Books & Music chain. His latest CD, New Frontiers, was one of XM Satellite Radio’s
“Best Picks” for 2004. Sean has performed concerts throughout the northeast both
with his 5-piece band as well as with smaller ensembles. His recent shows have
featured special guest Latin jazz legend and Grammy winner, Dave Valentin.
Sean is a native of Long Island and has been featured in numerous media
coverage including CBS News, News12 Long Island, Newsday, and the New
York Times. This performance will be held in the Community Library’s auditorium.
A library card is not required.
